Slicing and Dicing a Windows Whistler ISO
WHAT YOU NEED:
Whistler ISO - duh!
Expiration Crack - (setupreg.hiv)
CDKEY Crack - (setupp.ini)
boot.bin - Bootable CD Image
CDRWIN 3.8 - to burn the modified image
ISOBUSTER - to break open the ISO
HARDWARE:
Set boot sequence to load from CDROM before IDE01
SOFTWARE:
Extract the Whistler ISO with ISOBUSTER to a new directory.
Place the setupreg.hiv and setupp.ini files into the /i386 directory, yes overwrite the other ones.
Install and Open CDRWIN 3.8
choose the option to write files/backup
Move the EXTRACTED WHISTLER ISO directory into the file space.
Select : Record Directories/Files directly to an ISO9660 Disc (on the fly) option.
Make sure that the following options are checked (or unchecked as shown).
Directory Options:
[ ] Preserve Full Pathnames
[x] Recurse Subdirectories
[x] Include Hidden Files
[x] Include System Files
ISO9660 Options:
[x] Long Filenames (Joliet)
[x] Disable Version Numbers
[ ] Disable DOS Compatibility
ISO9660 Advanced Options Dialog:
Volume Descriptor Tab -> Volume Label: WHISTLER2410 or 2410PRO or 2410PERSONAL
(Note this can be ANYTHING)
Bootable Disc Tab:
[x] Make Bootable Disc
Media Emulation Type: Custom
Image File Name: BOOT.BIN
Developer Name: Microsoft Corporation
Load Segment: 07C0
Load Sector Count: 4 (YES, make sure this is 4)
Recording Options:
Disc Type: CDROM, Track Mode: MODE1
[x] Finalize Session
[x] Write Postgap
[ ] Open New Session
[ ] Test Mode
Set Speed and Burn
Once burned, you can delete the directory you made for ISOBUSTER. Make sure WhistlerCD is in the CDROM and reset. It will boot and install now if you set all the settings properly. I suggest that you burn it to a CDRW incase you missed one of the settings.
