║ │ 1. Pkunzip into a temp directory example "pkunzip *.zip d:\temp │ ║
║ │ 2. unarj it "arj x -v -y osr2post.arj" │ ║
║ │ 4. Run SetupM.exe from DOS or Setup.exe from Win95. │ ║
║ │ 5. When its 99% installed, it asks for 3 files- 2 arrow_1 files and │ ║
║ │ CSWin.exe. Hit SKIP for all 3. These are Compuserve files and │ ║
║ │ both CompuServe and AOL packages were removed. If you get a VXD │ ║
║ │ error when loading from DOS, When you reboot it will work fine. │ ║
║ │ 6. To make sure that it updated your system, go to Control Panel │ ║
║ │ and go to system and look at the number. If it says │ ║
║ │ 4.00.950.b or go to dos prompt and type VER if it says 4.00.1111 │ ║
║ │ that means its installed fine and is the updated and the right │ ║
║ │ version. │ ║

║ │ Osr1 is 950.6 with this service pack dumped into the dirs and burn │ ║
║ │ onto a CD and sold to computer mfgs as a marketing perk to keep the │ ║

║ │ The whole time this had been going on ppl had been working on NEW │ ║
║ │ version of windows 95 that grew up from code that came from before │ ║
║ │ windows 95 was released insuring all new features integrated exactly. │ ║
║ │ This means that most of the system files have been revamped or are │ ║
║ │ totally new. The way they work with one and other is much smoother. │ ║
║ │ So less stuff breaks....yah right!! │ ║

║ │ Of course with all that new code and features they had to really │ ║
║ │ work it to what it is now. This is OSR2 There have been 4 betas and │ ║
║ │ 1 release copy(this is it) that MS will be selling to computer mfg's │ ║

║ │ release another service pack to add to 950.6 but they havent been │ ║
║ │ working real hard on it, IF they are ! but then if you want all the │ ║
║ │ new integrated parts it much better to get this) │ ║

║ │ OSR2 dev/test group find. They are JUST NOW STARTING TO work on │ ║

This is the full release of Microsofts new version of Windows95
this is not a version of windows 95 that has a few files and fixes tossed in
this is an integrated package that without all of the 39(arj) files
it would suck and crash and GFP as often as detroit.
This version has been optimized at the MSTheft Labs. and duz not include the
criminally forced upon you AOL CIS and WOW shit.(30+ fuckin megs we saved you)
The Evolution of Windows95
(950.6) retail version
It came in the blue box w/ clouds and shit and thats what you got
unless your cool.....Neat party tho ;)
Service Pack #1
After release of win95 (950.6) there was a service pack update #1
this was a fix (this is a bunch of files in a self extracting exe
that dumped itself to your system dirs and registry
OSR1
osr1 is 950.6 with this service pack dumped into the dirs and burn onto a CD
and sold to computer mfgs as a marketing perk to keep the newest computers
with the newest version of 95 ( it wazn't spoz 2 break as much )
OSR2
The whole time this had been going on ppl had been working on NEW version of
windows 95 that grew up from code that came from before windows 95 was released
insuring all new features integrated exactly. This means that most of the
system files have been revamped or are totally new. The way they work
with one and other is much smoother. so less stuff breaks....yah right!!
Of course with all that new code and features they had to really work it to
what it is now. This is OSR2 There have been 4 betas and 1 release copy(this is it)
that MS will be selling to computer mfg's and not to johny q public.
ppl wont even be able to by this. (MS might release another service pack
to add to 950.6 but they havent been working real hard on it, IF they are !
but then if you want all the new integrated parts it much better to get this)
Now the latest version of OSr2 is what you got..here!
This is also a Release Version C of this product and there
wont be no more. (Not even from MS...most ppl wont even test version c
before version a is released, hence the title Post Final C)
OSR3
Now by now you have all heard of OSR3 or Detroit
this is code that came from an OSR2 build about 100 builds ago.
And ppl have just started working on making all the files they added to the
OSR2 code as well as implementing all the code fixes that the OSR2 dev/test
group find. They are JUST NOW STARTING TO work on making it a pkg
its not even a alpha yet.
SO... it is not recommended as anything other than something cool to trash one
of your EXTRA computers with...and i do stress EXTRA
By October this code should be stable enough to try.
OSR4
There is no OSR4 yet..... YOU LAMER!!
For Now Stick with the MSTheft optimized version of OSR2.Post.Final.Release.C
