│ Due to EVERY group releasing this wrong, I have taken it upon myself │
│ to package it. This copy WORKS. Trust me. I installed it personally │
│ from disks I made from the images and programs in these zips! │
│ │
│ First off, this is the OEM version. It is INTENDED for machine with │
│ nothing on their hard drives, such as a brand new machine. It does │
│ however work on machine that already have DOS and Windows installed. │
│ I did have to delete drvspace.bin and dblspace.bin to bypass a "Your │
│ HD is compressed therefore your fucked" message. │
│ │
│ Second, this is the floppy version. As such, it only installs from │
│ floppy. It WILL NOT install from HD. If anyone can bypass this, I │
│ would be extremely interested in having it. Once Win95 is installed │
│ the .CAB files can be changed (using 95 power tools). Seeing as I │
│ like a challenge better than Win95, I spent two days figuring out │
│ which releases work correctly (none) and how to format the floppies │
│ and copy them. I do not know if it will work if your 3.5" is b: │
│ │
│ Third, you need a special floppy format. This format can be done in │
│ DOS using the program FDformat. I have included the original package │
│ for this util as supplied from ZiffDavis Conference on Compuserve. │
│ I must say, even for a German, this is one of the finest programs I │
│ have used, and kudos to him for releasing it with source! You will │
│ need: 14 disks. Format 2 of them as standard 1.44MB disks. Next, │
│ run FDREAD.COM. This file will patch your Floppy BIOS for bizarre │
│ floppy formats. Now format the remaining 12 as follows: │
│ │
│ fdformat a: /n:21 /d:16 /c:4 /m:240. │
│ │
│ Fourth, use the program WIMAGE.EXE (Also written by that wacky German). │
│ Make sure you still have FDREAD.COM loaded for this! Then use the │
│ handy chart if your clueless, don't know hex, or just like long NFOs. │

│ since at least 1990 and Microsoft decided to give a new name (DMF). │

Microsoft Windows 95 1.44 Disk Version - Originally arrived on 1.44 disks,
but packaged as 1.2 CAB Files. I am assuming that MS did this if you only
had 5.25 floppy. This release is 30 Disks.
For those that have been living in cave and haven't found out yet,
What was formeryly SCuM is now a added addition to the PWA family.

The list below explains what bugs we fixed, which binaries contain that fix, what directory to copy the binary into. Lines that start with an asterisk (*) are fixes you do not need unless you have that component installed (e.g. no need for Windows Tour fix if you'not installed the Tour). Format of the "bug lines" is: Bug description: binary_name (target dir) Some abbreviations are used to describe the target directories; assuming that the Windows directory is C:\WINDOWS, the full paths are: SYSTEM c:\windows\system COMMAND c:\windows\command HELP c:\windows\help EBD root dir of your Emergency Boot Disk INF c:\windows\inf ----------------- LIST OF BUG FIXES & BINARIES --------------------- Fixed a gp fault when browsing for additional INF files (in "have disk" cases) during setup: setupx.dll (SYSTEM dir) Pop up a warning dialog if Mail, Fax or MSN are running during attempt to start MS-DOS mode or application Setup-style restarts.
