Good news for all you Microsoft supporters out there. If you are like me, who don't have a choice but to use Microsoft's Windows 95, you will be glad to hear that they have ALMOST finished with this new version of Windows called Windows 98. This is build number 1559 and the folks at Microsoft have decided that built 1564 will be the LAST internal build, then the official release will ship! So this beta should be more or less "stable". | |||
Please be warned that there are a few programs in the market that will NOT work with Win98, so if I were you, I'd throw out my PC and get a Mac! | |||

新的特性
- 引入安装红外线设备向导。
- 安装程序第二阶段的标题栏纯色化。
- 鼓器图标回归到安装程序的第二阶段。
- 桌面右键菜单的创建新项目有了图标，识别度提高。
- 资源管理器的HTML视图从左边更改为上端，并使用纯青绿色的HTML图像。
- 资源管理器的右上角效仿着IE的样式(Internet Explorer 徽标)。
- 浏览文件对话框引入回到桌面文件夹按钮。
- 开始菜单更紧凑。
- 开始菜单的项目支持右键菜单。
- HTML 帮助查看器更新。
- 电源管理设置更新。
- 红外线设置更新。
- 新的频道栏风格。
- 新的 Windows 98 Beta 2 活动桌面壁纸。
- Internet Explorer 4：
- Internet Explorer 4 Platform Preview 2 (4.71.1102.2)。
- Outlook Express (4.71.1102.0)。
- Internet Explorer 的搜索、收藏夹、历史记录、频道的左栏界面简单化。
- Outlook Express 默认钉在桌面上。
