Dear Windows 98 Beta Testers,
We have taken the incredibly fast feedback we recieved on 1720 as well as fixes that were already in the works and we are closer than ever to RC1. We have implemented some core fixes which should help Power Management, Multimedia and Dial-Up Networking. We would like all of you to download this build if possible and give it a thorough run through.
Note: You do not have to download this build to stay active; this is an optional download.

Open Regedit In the \windows directory Search for "Regdone" - This will take a few minutes The line will read Regdone " " Select the line and modify Enter Number 1 Reset Machine Hey Presto The reason for this is that Microsoft has confirmed with beta testers that 1721.3 is going to be shipped to PC Manufacturers as the final release, however they don't want people logging onto the 98 Update Website as seen in the start menu, so 1721.3 is noted in the registry as a Beta, forcing the update website to say "gimmee your beta tester password" or "register please". Now this little hack inputs the missing RC1 from the registry making it a full version and giving full access to the update website. Thanx to Mr US for the info RaPtOr
