OSR1 Beta Build 2126 is presently posted to the web site and FTP for download. Please visit http://winbeta.microsoft.com/memphis for details.

We are pleased to announce the release of the first of our regular Interim Releases. This is the first of a series of releases that will carry the Beta team to the final release of the OSR1 product. We ask that you download and install this build as soon as you can. With Interim Releases, timely feedback is extremely important because of the frequency of our new builds.
Testers should install this build as they see fit. All we ask is that you maximize your facilities to stress Setup as much as possible, in a variety of different install scenarios. Remember to complete an Installation Survey and supporting bug reports for each installation of this build. Again, timely feedback should be your main goal here. It is vital to receive your surveys and bug reports early, so we can work fixes into future Interim Releases.
Below are Known Issues with this build. Please be sure to read through these, and those that appear in the relnotes.doc (available on the web site) before installing build 2126.
Product ID for this build is C9TCH-G72Y6-G4DQK-QCQRM-K7XFQ. This is the confidential Beta PID, as outlined in your licensing agreement.

Known Issues:
Intel Network card disabled in Device Manager after Setup
a.. If you have an Intel network card (NIC) that's banged out code 2 in NTKERN & NDIS, remove the card from Device Manager (right click on the adapter and remove), then let Windows 98 redetect the NIC. This will reload the necessary drivers, and enable your NIC.
Network Setup fails with Intel 100 Network card
a.. If you have an Intel network card (NIC), you may not be able to finish Setup.
The workarounds for various install scenarios are:
a.. Clean install: Rename e100bnt5.sys to e100bnt5.bak, boot into Windows, rename e100bnt5.bak to E100BNT5.SYS, then reboot. OR, copy over E100BNT.SYS to E100BNT5.SYS in DOS.
a.. Upgrade: Rename E100BNT.SYS to E100BNT5.SYS, then reboot.
a.. Net Upgrade: Rename E100BNT.SYS to E100BNT5.SYS from a dos prompt when you get the options for changing network setup to continue installing.
TCP/IP doesn’t bind to your Intel network card
a.. If you have an Intel network card (NIC), TCP/IP may not bind to the card when you run the Internet Connection Wizard to connect via LAN. To get TCP/IP to bind to your NIC, go to Network Neighborhood’s properties, and add TCP/IP protocol again.
